The Williams Lake Spinners, Weavers and Fibre Artists Guild is a gathering of creative and positive people who enjoy working with animal and plant fibers, transforming them into beautiful and useful items.
We practice the ancient skills of carding, spinning, dyeing, weaving, knitting, crocheting and felting resulting in wearable articles, household items and purely artistic objects.
We meet every Wednesday from 10 am to ~2pm, and every Saturday from 10am to noon.
Throughout the year we hold workshops, which are open to the general public, and have demonstrations at various events and venues. Our special annual events include the November Sale of our handcrafted items, and the Spin In, held on the first Saturday in May. This is a daylong gathering of spinners from all over BC and commercial vendors of spinning and weaving supplies; we spin, eat, share, hold competitions and give out prizes and stock up on supplies. It is a cheerful and inspiring occasion.
The Guild presently has about 20 members of all skill levels and abilities.
