Our annual sale is on this weekend – handcrafted items by our members will be for sale and on display. There will be handspun, knitted, crocheted and woven items as well as many other one-of-a-kind articles!
Hello fibre friends,
We had a fun time at the Harvest Fair in September, there was a lot of interest in our sample items and our spinning demonstrations.
We will be holding a similar demonstration and display at the CRD Library on October 27th, 10-2pm, come along and check it out, details on our calender.
On the 26th of September we held our AGM. Barb was elected as president, Dot as vice-president, and Linda and Lesley remain as secretary and treasurer respectively. To our out-going president Vonny, we appreciate all the hard work and effort you have put into our group over the last few years, thank you!
Our annual Christmas sale is coming up soon, Saturday 3rd November at the Arts Centre. Linda and Vonny are busy finishing two large blankets which will be included in the sale. We have been working on these as a group project for a while, on the 100″ loom that requires two weavers.
In between all of that, the looms in the guild room have been busy, lots of blankets, rag rugs and tea towels have been produced. Members have been busy crafting at home too, with many scarves woven and socks, shawls and sweaters knitted. The next group project is to address the large stash of wool in the guild room, which we plan to knit up into toques and scarves for the giving tree later in the year.
